Premiere: The Florets Return With A New Jam, ‘Quiet Life’

Melbourne alt-psych group, The Florets will this week unveil their brand new single, Quiet Life. It’s taken from the bands forthcoming debut album, Permanent Glow out October 1st. We’re super blessed today to have the very fist listen two and a half minute jam.

Quiet Life kicks straight into action from the get go. It’s dream like feel will have you swaying within seconds of pressing that play button. Smooth guitar work and soft subtle keys welcome you in early as things pick up with a fitting vocal delivery. The track tells a story of a life stuck in lockdown, whilst longing for a change.

‘Quiet Life’ follows the journey of a city dweller living in Melbourne during lockdown, longing for a lifestyle change. I grew up in regional NSW and moved to the city the moment I finished high school. There will always be a yearning to move somewhere with less hustle & bustle again & lockdown really emphasized the desire to move somewhere remote & tranquil.

We had a lot of fun arranging this song in the studio. Originally the album was pretty electric guitar heavy but our producer Chris Wright suggested experimenting with a theremin synth & trying to chill out the tracks with acoustic guitar lines instead of electric ones which paved the way for how we would approach the album’s overall sound.” Nicholas Dawes, The Florets

The Florets will celebrate the launch of their album, Permanent Glow on Saturday 6th November. Quiet Life is available tomorrow, however you can enjoy exclusively right here today!
